Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. LovedPDF runs the entire merge in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, we have no way to read them, even if we wanted to.

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

On the free tier you can merge up to 20 PDFs at once with a combined size of 100 MB. Pro lifts that to unlimited files and 5 GB.

Will the merge change the quality of my PDFs?

No. We perform a structural merge that copies the original pages byte-for-byte. Text, fonts, images, forms, and bookmarks are preserved.

Can I reorder the PDFs before merging?

Yes. Drag and drop any file in the list to change its position. The output PDF follows the order you set.

Does the merged PDF keep the bookmarks and links?

Internal links within each source PDF are preserved. We are working on automatically merging the bookmark trees in a future release.

What happens to my files after I close the page?

Everything is destroyed. Files exist only as in-memory objects in your browser tab, closing the tab clears them instantly.
