The honest version

How your files are handled

48 of our 61 live tools do all their work inside your browser: your file is read, processed, and downloaded without ever being uploaded. The remaining 13 send something off your device: 11 send your file to our own server in Mumbai, and 2 send text excerpts to a third-party AI provider. We do not hide any of them. Every one is named below.

48 tools run in your browser

Nothing is uploaded. We never receive the file.

These run on your own device using WebAssembly and your browser's built-in PDF engine. You can prove it: open DevTools, go to the Network tab, filter to .pdf, and run any of them. Nothing leaves. They span every category:

  • Organize13
  • Optimize2
  • Convert15
  • Edit & sign16
  • AI2

11 file tools run on our server in Mumbai, India

Your file is uploaded to a server we control, processed, and deleted right after.

These need LibreOffice, qpdf, Ghostscript, or Tesseract, which do not run in a browser. When you use one, your file is sent over HTTPS to our own server, a VPS physically located in Mumbai, India, that we control. It is not in the EU. The disk is not encrypted at rest; your file only exists on it for the few seconds it takes to process, and is then deleted in the same request. A cron backstop clears anything left within an hour, in case a process crashes. Your file is never read by a human, never used for training, never shared, and never kept. No third party receives it.

2 AI tools send text to Anthropic, a third party

The file stays in your browser. Only extracted text leaves, to a company that is not us.

For these, the text is extracted from your PDF inside your browser. The file itself never leaves your device. What is sent, over HTTPS, is text excerpts (up to 32 KB) and your question, never the file. It goes to Anthropic's API, a third-party AI provider, not to a server we control. Per Anthropic's commercial terms, API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted within 30 days, and per its published policy, they are not used to train its models by default. We do not store the text on our side. This is the one group of tools where your data reaches a third party, so we name the company and say exactly what it receives.

In one line

48 of 61 tools never touch a server. 11 use our own server in Mumbai (deleted right after, never shared). 2 send text excerpts to Anthropic, a third party that deletes them within 30 days and does not train on them by default. Every one is named, and nothing is sold or shared beyond that.
